Natural leadership unfolds when you connect from the heart; an active decision to use wonder and vulnerability in relation to yourself and the other. For me it is about personal leadership, about knowing myself, from which natural leadership arises. A natural leader gives direction from authenticity and autonomy: spontaneity, intimacy and self-awareness.
A natural leader is able to inspire his or her environment; to create awareness about what really matters. The relation with nature of which you are an inseparable part; to see the difference between destiny and fate and to be able to take responsibility for this by daring to make choices in the light of what is good for everyone. Truly being able to experience the connection with the big picture in which everyone counts and takes each other into account. It's all about inclusion which creates real impact.

In our hectic, daily life, we sometimes forget what’s really important and meaningful to us. Are we still acting in line with our true values and goals?
Being on trail in the African wilderness was an amazing and inspiring experience to me. Out there with the group, nature taught us all concepts of Natural Leadership. Disconnected from our phones and watches, slowing down, simplicity; it immediately made us feel humble and respectful towards nature. At the same time, we wondered and we enjoyed. Walking in silence, laughing and talking at the campfire, sleeping under the stars. As we carried on, we were responsible, watchful and kind. And we really listened: to nature, to each other and to our own hearts.
This is what Natural Leadership means to me. Taking all this back to our daily lives, our businesses and society, makes us true Natural Leaders: being able to connect with our true selves and really connecting with the people around us. Making conscious choices and taking meaningful actions, both in our personal and in our professional lives.
